As part of our commitment to actively contribute to communities, Gasteam Ltd has partnered with DEVELOP, a not-for-profit organisation in Wiltshire running a program to support teenagers with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The scheme aims to help SEND students gain valuable work experience in the hopes that one of the companies will offer these teens a permanent job. Over the next few weeks, our Gasteam engineers will be teaching these students about our different services, giving them an introduction to an industry that will hopefully provide some of them with bright futures.
Ryan, our first teenager, accompanied one of our engineers for a two-week work experience programme. He is a smashing kid who’s definitely not afraid to get his hands dirty! If he decides on becoming a future gas engineer, then we will definitely be happy to have him with us at Gasteam.
Our latest student, Caleb, has just started his two-week placement together with our engineers. Caleb’s extraordinary attention to detail has certainly impressed us. He dedicates himself to his work and has continuously improved over the past week. His dad, a heating engineer, says that he’s proud of what his son has achieved. They think that this might be the trade for Caleb. We think so too!
DEVELOP Enhancing Community Support is a charitable institution that supports families and communities across Wiltshire and the surrounding areas. Their Supported Internship Program for Young People with SEND is just one example of their voluntary work in cooperation with the Wiltshire Council. If you wish to volunteer for their placement program, have a look here.
At Gasteam we always look forward to seeing the next generation join our ranks. If you haven’t already, please check out the rest of our blog articles to see what else we’ve been doing. We mainly cover the areas of Milton Keynes and Bedford, also catering to the Luton and Dunstable areas.
